Bologna Ends 51-Year Trophy Drought with Coppa Italia Triumph Over AC Milan

Rome, May 14, 2025 –
History was made at the Stadio Olimpico last night as Bologna FC lifted the Coppa Italia for the first time in 51 years, defeating AC Milan 1–0 in a hard-fought final.

The match’s only goal came in the 53rd minute when Dan Ndoye capitalized on a loose ball in the box after Theo Hernández’s attempted tackle. The Swiss forward kept his composure and fired home the decisive goal, sending the Bologna fans into a frenzy.

Bologna’s captain, Lewis Ferguson, played through a facial injury sustained in a collision with Rafael Leão but showed tremendous leadership throughout. His tenacity, alongside a disciplined defensive display, helped secure this historic victory.

This triumph marks Bologna’s first major trophy since 1974 and a massive achievement for manager Vincenzo Italiano, who has transformed the club into a competitive force once again.
