Man Arrested for Racist Abuse of Antoine Semenyo – Banned from UK Stadiums for Life
Breaking News:
The individual who racially abused Antoine Semenyo during the Liverpool vs Bournemouth match at Anfield has been arrested and permanently banned from all UK football stadiums.
The 47-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of committing a racially aggravated public order offence after the match was briefly halted in the 29th minute when Semenyo reported the abuse to referee Anthony Taylor.
After posting bail, the suspect was released under strict conditions, including:
✔ A lifetime ban from all regulated football matches in the UK.
✔ Prohibition from coming within one mile of any designated football stadium.
Despite the incident, Semenyo delivered an incredible performance, scoring two goals later in the game. He later shared his gratitude:
> “Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever – not because of one person’s words, but because of how the entire football family stood together.”
Official Reactions
Liverpool FC and the Premier League have strongly condemned the act, reaffirming their zero-tolerance policy on racism.
Premier League CEO Richard Masters stated that such abuse will result in bans and possible prosecution.
Bournemouth is working with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to support Semenyo through the process.
This case highlights ongoing efforts to eradicate racism from football, both on and off the pitch.
