Bruno GuimarĂŁes Wears Arsenal Colours for the First Time đź”´
A new chapter has officially begun for Bruno GuimarĂŁes.
The Brazilian midfielder has been pictured in Arsenal colours for the first time following his blockbuster move from Newcastle United to the Premier League champions. Arsenal officially announced the signing on a four-year contract, with an option for a further year, in a deal reported to be worth around ÂŁ75 million ($101 million).
And Arsenal fans did not have to wait long to see their new midfield star in action.
Guimarães made his Arsenal debut against Como in the Emirates Cup, coming on at half-time. The match finished 1–1 after 90 minutes before Arsenal won the penalty shootout 4–3, with Guimarães calmly converting his spot-kick.
The 28-year-old arrives in North London with a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most complete midfielders. His ability to win the ball, progress possession, create chances and contribute in the final third gives Mikel Arteta another high-level option in an already talented squad.
GuimarĂŁes also brings leadership experience. He captained Newcastle and played a key role in their historic Carabao Cup triumph in 2025, ending the club’s long wait for a major domestic trophy.
Now, the mission is different.
Premier League champions. European ambitions. A new challenge.
Bruno Guimarães is officially a Gunner and Arsenal supporters will be hoping the Brazilian can help take the club to another level. 🔴🇧🇷
Welcome to North London, Bruno!
