Arsenal Edge Everton 1-0 as Gyökeres Sends Gunners Top
Arsenal secured a crucial 1-0 victory away at Everton in the Premier League, continuing their impressive run and moving to the top of the table ahead of the Christmas period.
The decisive moment came in the first half when Viktor Gyökeres calmly converted a penalty to give the Gunners the lead. Arsenal controlled large spells of the game but were made to work hard by a determined Everton side.
In the second half, Arsenal pushed for a second goal. Leandro Trossard and Martín Zubimendi both came close, hitting the woodwork as the visitors dominated possession. Everton had moments of pressure and appealed for a penalty, but VAR ruled in Arsenal’s favour.
