Inter Milan Take Commanding Lead in Serie A with 3–1 Win Over Cagliari
Inter Milan continued their march towards the Serie A title with a convincing 3–1 victory over Cagliari at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on April 12, 2025.
Marko Arnautovic opened the scoring early in the 13th minute, and Lautaro Martínez doubled the lead with a brilliant chip in the 26th minute. Cagliari fought back through Roberto Piccoli, who pulled one back with a header in the 48th minute. However, Inter restored their two-goal advantage just 7 minutes later when Yann Aurel Bisseck found the back of the net from a corner.
With this result, Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A to 6 points over second-placed Napoli, who still have a game in hand. With only six games remaining, this victory has put Inter firmly in control of their title destiny.
The win also maintained their unbeaten run in the league and keeps their momentum strong as they push for the Serie A crown. Coach Simone Inzaghi praised the team’s focus, but acknowledged the challenge of maintaining their high level of performance across multiple competitions, including Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League.
As the season winds down, Inter’s pursuit of their first Serie A title in over a decade remains on track. They will need to keep up their impressive form in the final weeks to seal the deal.
