John Mikel Obi Slams NFF Over Nigeria’s World Cup Qualification Struggles

Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has publicly criticized the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the Super Eagles continue to struggle in their bid to qualify for the next FIFA World Cup.

Mikel, who played a crucial role in Nigeria’s international success during his career, did not hold back in his remarks.

> 🗣️ “If Nigeria doesn’t qualify for the World Cup, the entire NFF board has to go… it’s unacceptable. We missed Qatar 2022, and now it looks like we won’t make it again. Honestly, it’s horrible.”

The former Chelsea midfielder emphasized that while players deserve part of the blame, the bigger issue lies in poor leadership and lack of proper planning at the top level.

> ⚽ “This is why people disrespect African football,” he added.

Mikel’s statement has sparked reactions among fans, with many agreeing that accountability within Nigerian football must begin at the very top.
