Viktor Gyökeres Declares Exit from Sporting, Eyes Arsenal Move

Viktor Gyökeres has informed Sporting CP that he will not be returning for pre-season — effectively signaling the end of his time with the Portuguese club.

The Swedish striker, who enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, has made it clear that he has no intention of featuring for Sporting again as he pushes for a move away this summer.

Arsenal Remain the Priority

Gyökeres has made Arsenal his number one destination, with the Gunners closely monitoring the situation. However, their primary striking target remains Benjamin Šeško. Talks for the Slovenian forward are ongoing, but a reported £10 million valuation gap still separates Arsenal and RB Leipzig.

Manchester United Still in the Frame

Should Arsenal decide to prioritize Šeško, Manchester United could step in for Gyökeres. The Red Devils have shown long-standing interest in the 26-year-old and are prepared to pounce if Arsenal shift their focus elsewhere.

A Summer Saga Unfolding

With Gyökeres drawing a firm line under his Sporting career, the pressure now mounts on Arsenal to make a decision. Will they bridge the gap for Šeško, or will Gyökeres become Mikel Arteta’s Plan B — or even Plan A?

One thing is certain: this transfer saga is far from over.
