Leicester City Up for Sale: End of the Srivaddhanaprabha Era?

Leicester City could be heading toward a major change in ownership.

The Srivaddhanaprabha family, owners of Leicester City, are reportedly seeking buyers for the club and a wider portfolio of football and property assets. According to The Athletic, a sales package prepared by Citigroup has been circulated to potential investors under the name “Project Lineup.”

💰 What is the asking price?

The owners are reportedly seeking around $300 million (£222 million) for the wider portfolio, although sources familiar with the process believe a deal could ultimately be completed for closer to $200 million (£148 million).

The package reportedly includes:

– 🦊 Leicester City’s men’s team

– 👩 Leicester City’s women’s team

– 🎓 The Category One academy

– 🏟️ King Power Stadium

– 🏋️ The Seagrave training centre

– 🇧🇪 Belgian sister club OH Leuven

The Seagrave training complex alone reportedly cost around £100 million to develop.

📉 Why is Leicester being sold?

The timing comes after a dramatic downturn for the club.

Leicester’s remarkable rise under the Srivaddhanaprabha family included the unforgettable 2015–16 Premier League title, an FA Cup triumph in 2021 and European football.

But the club has since suffered financial difficulties and a steep sporting decline, culminating in relegation to League One in 2026. Leicester were also hit with a six-point deduction for financial breaches during the 2025–26 season.

Now, after years of ownership, the Srivaddhanaprabha family’s Leicester chapter could be approaching its final pages.

👀 Who comes next?

There is currently no confirmed buyer, meaning the club’s future ownership remains uncertain.

For Leicester supporters, however, the potential sale represents more than a business transaction. It could mark the end of an ownership era that delivered one of the most extraordinary stories in English football history and the beginning of another.
