Flick has confirmed that Ronald will miss the upcoming match Araujo

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has confirmed that Ronald Araujo will miss the upcoming match after being sidelined by a stomach virus. The Uruguayan defender was absent from full training and worked separately in the gym before the medical team ruled him out of the squad.

Flick explained:
“Araujo has a stomach virus. He couldn’t train today and will also miss tomorrow’s game.”

His absence comes shortly after the Champions League defeat to Chelsea, but the club clarified that the issue is strictly medical and unrelated to any mental or emotional concerns.

🔵 What This Means for Barcelona

Araujo’s absence leaves Barcelona short in central defence.

Pau Cubarsí, Andreas Christensen, or Eric Garcia may be tasked with filling the gap.

The club expects Araujo’s situation to be short-term, depending on his recovery over the coming days.

Barcelona will now aim to regroup defensively as they prepare for the next fixture without one of their key leaders at the back.
