Liverpool Crash Out of Carabao Cup After 3–0 Home Defeat to Crystal Palace
Liverpool suffered a shocking 3–0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield in the Carabao Cup fourth round, marking one of their worst home cup losses in decades.
An under-strength Reds side failed to find rhythm throughout the game as Ismaila Sarr struck twice — first capitalizing on a poor clearance from Joe Gomez, and then finishing a counterattack just before half-time.
Things went from bad to worse for Liverpool when Amara Nallo was shown a red card in the 79th minute, reducing the hosts to ten men. Palace sealed the victory late on through Yeremy Pino, who made it 3–0 in the 88th minute.
This result means Liverpool are eliminated from the Carabao Cup, extending a troubling run of six defeats in their last seven matches. It’s also their heaviest home cup loss since 1934.
Head coach Arne Slot admitted post-match that his team were far from their usual standards and need an immediate turnaround.
Liverpool will now shift their focus to their upcoming Premier League fixture this weekend as they aim to rediscover their winning form.
