LONDON JUST GOT COLDER MORGAN ROGERS HAS ARRIVED!
Ice-cold.
Morgan Rogers has wasted absolutely no time introducing himself to Chelsea supporters.
The England international scored on his Chelsea debut against Fulham, putting the Blues back in front in a thrilling West London derby at Craven Cottage.
And, of course, he celebrated in trademark fashion the ice-cold celebration.
🔥 £117 MILLION PRESSURE? NO PROBLEM.
Chelsea made Rogers their record signing, paying Aston Villa £117 million for the 23-year-old forward. The deal also made him the most expensive British player in football history.
With that price tag comes enormous expectations.
But instead of allowing the pressure to overwhelm him, Rogers has responded in the best possible way by scoring.
ICE IN HIS VEINS
Rogers’ goal came in the 41st minute, restoring Chelsea’s lead after Fulham had cancelled out João Pedro’s early opener.
It was the perfect response from a player expected to play a major role in Xabi Alonso’s new Chelsea project.
And there was an extra layer to the celebration.
Rogers’ famous “ice-cold” celebration was already associated with Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer, who previously adopted the celebration after Rogers first used it during his time at Middlesbrough. Now, both players have brought it to Stamford Bridge.
A NEW ERA AT CHELSEA
For Chelsea, this isn’t just about one debut goal.
The club has entered a new era under Xabi Alonso, and Rogers is one of the biggest pieces of the rebuild. Chelsea are hoping his combination of power, versatility, ball-carrying ability and attacking quality can help push the club back toward the top of the Premier League.
One game doesn’t define a player.
But if this debut is anything to go by, Chelsea may have found another star ready to shine under the lights of London.
Morgan Rogers has arrived.
And London just got a whole lot colder.
