PSG Edge Past Aston Villa to Reach Champions League Semi-Finals
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are through to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after surviving a thrilling battle at Villa Park. Despite a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa on the night, PSG’s 3-1 victory in the first leg gave them a 5-4 aggregate win to book their place in the final four.
The French giants came out strong, with Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes giving them a two-goal cushion by the 27th minute. However, Villa were not done. Youri Tielemans, John McGinn, and Ezri Konsa fired back to turn the game around, making it a nail-biting finish.
Thanks to some late heroics from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and composed defending, PSG managed to hold on and advance.
