BREAKING: CRISTIANO RONALDO IS NOT RETIRING FROM PORTUGAL! π΅πΉπ
Cristiano Ronaldo has officially made his position clear: he is still available to represent Portugal and intends to continue competing for the national team. π₯
The 41-year-old superstar has broken his silence following the dramatic fallout with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, explaining his version of what happened during the recent Nations League camp.Β
According to Ronaldo, there was an agreement that he would manage his minutes during the international break. However, on the day of Portugalβs match against Norway, he says Jesus told him he would play around 30 minutes.
Ronaldo warmed up from half-time but was ultimately never introduced.
That became the starting point of the controversy. Ronaldo says he later reached an agreement with Jesus, in the presence of Al-Nassr sporting director SimΓ£o Coutinho, that the coach would explain the situation publicly. Ronaldo claims that agreement was not respected either.Β
The Portugal captain admitted that leaving the national-team camp was his responsibility and apologised to his teammates and supporters.
He also asked the Portuguese Football Federation to punish him, saying that as captain, he accepts greater responsibility for his actions.
But the biggest message from Ronaldo is this:
π΅πΉ HE IS NOT DONE WITH PORTUGAL.
Ronaldo made it clear that once he serves any disciplinary punishment and is fit, he will remain available to compete and win for Portugal.Β
This effectively puts the retirement rumours to bed β at least for now.
For Ronaldo, the Portugal shirt is still about competition, winning and representing his country, rather than simply having a farewell ceremony.
And after everything that has happened, the question now becomes:
π Can Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus put this controversy behind them and work together again?
One thing is certain β Cristiano Ronaldoβs story with Portugal is NOT over yet. ππ΅πΉπ₯
